Welcome to the Blackpool Image Gallery, containing photos of Blackpool and the neighbouring area, of interest to residents and visitors alike. You can search for images on a subject or period that interests you, view the results, download them for personal use or order copies on-line.

The Gallery will open in January 2005 with 500 photos from the collection held at Blackpool Central Library, but it will build to host images from a variety of sources. Many of the images are irreplaceable. Digitising protects the originals from wear and tear, and enables people all over the world to view the collection via the Internet.

Some of the images in the collection have few details, and we would welcome any further information that you have - please contact info4me@blackpool.gov.uk. We would also be interested to hear about any images that we could add to the site.
